Chelsea push for De Ligt whilst Hakim Ziyech asks to leave the football club

Chelsea are pushing for De Ligt according to an exclusive from Nathan Gissing and Di Marzio who both work together on Chelsea news.

Chelsea have offered €25-30m and Timo Werner for De Ligt which has been rejected, it’s been suggested Chelsea will go to €40-45m + Werner for De Ligt but Juventus would likely want even more money, it seems that Todd Boehly is trying to do a lot of swap deals in his early negotiations in the transfer market.

Chelsea insider Simon Johnson from The Athletic stated that insiders told The Athletic that Todd had been taking a NBA Style approach to negotiations, he argued that in the Lukaku deal, If inter wanted him they should to a player trade, Inter rejected and Lukaku is going on loan without Chelsea getting a player in return.

Meanwhile, Hakim Ziyech has asked to leave the club following a season of being mostly on the bench. Ziyech is a talented player but hasn’t looked a good fit in the system. Chelsea would be open to a loan it’s understood, but they’d primarily prefer a sale.

Ziyech’s salary is thought to be an issue but talks will be ongoing to find an agreement, AC Milan are currently trying to finalise the transfer of Sven Botman but Newcastle are thought to be the closest to his signature.

It remains to be seen if Chelsea can find an agreement for De Ligt, but he is open to the move per Nathan, and Chelsea will push for it.
