Sir Jim Ratcliffe makes 11th hour £4BN bid to buy Chelsea

In a crazy turn of events, an exclusive from The Times reports that Sir Jim Ratcliffe has made a huge £4BN bid to buy Chelsea. Ratcliffe, who is a Manchester United fan but is rumoured to posses a Chelsea season ticket, has been interested in buying Chelsea previously in 2018 but stated that the sums “ never really met “ with Mr Abramovich.

What has Sir Jim Ratcliffe said?

“ We put an offer in this morning, We are the only British bid. Our motives are simply to try and create a very fine club in London. We have no profit motive because we make our money in other ways.”

INEOS Statement – Jim Ratcliffe’s company :

“ We are making this investment as fans of the beautiful game – not as a means to turn a profit. We do that with our core businesses. The club is rooted in its community and its fans. And it is our intention to invest in Chelsea FC for that reason “

“ We believe that London should have a club that reflects the stature of the city. a club that is held in the same regard as Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern Munich. We intend Chelsea to be that club “

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has also pledged to spend £1.75BN over 10 years on the stadium, squad and infrastructure.

INEOS further stated that they would invest in the squad to make it one full of the worlds greatest players aswell as coaches and support staff in the men and women’s games.

The statement seems positive from an outside view especially the fact they claim they will not use Chelsea as a profit means.

Update : Todd Boehly has won the race to buy Chelsea, according to multiple informed sources.
