Match Report: Chelsea 2-0 Swansea

Lampard doubling our lead, goal number 201
Lampard doubling our lead, goal number 201

Chelsea cruised to a 2-0 victory over Swansea thanks to goals from Brazilian Oscar and Super Frankie Lampard. It was his 201st Chelsea goal which now puts him just one goal away from Chelsea’s all-time leading goalscorer Bobby Tambling, who was their to watch the action-packed game. I’m sure Rafa will be pleased to cap off the week with yet another win.

I was a relatively quite opening with both side’s struggling to make any decent opportunities. The first chance of the game fell to Ba his long drive nearly caught out Michel Vorm in the Swansea goal. However only minutes later Ramires was forced off the pitch after he picked up a knock, he was replaced by Lampard.

Shortly after Ramires’ injury the blues almost scored. Two blocks were enough to deny both Ba and Oscar, as flurry of red shirts came rushing in the box.

On the 39th minute Michel Vorm was called into a fine Save. Characteristically Lampard robbed De Guzman in the middle of the park and he made a surging run goal-words. He unleashed a low shot which was cleverly saved by Vorm.

A minute later we nearly scored again. Lampard exquisitely found the unmarked Cahil in the box whose header agonizingly went over the bar. He really should have scored considering he was un-marked.

Finally Chelsea’s pressure paid off. Following a beautiful passage if play with Terry, Lampard managed to find Oscar whose driven shot nestled in the bottom left corner of the net. 1-0 Chelsea.

Minutes later we doubled our advantage. Mata won the penalty with some brilliant skill, his dazzling feet deceived Britton who took him down. Frank Lampard stepped up to net his 201st Chelsea goal, and he did just that. 2-0

The second half kicked off where the first finished both teams were playing with a high intensity. Lampard shot was instinctively blocked by Wales skipper Ashley Williams.

Swansea nearly got one back but a brilliant intervention from Gary Cahill on his comeback from injury denied Swansea the opportunity.

Chelsea were extremely fortunate not go be reduced to ten men when Spanish RB Cesar Azpilicueta poorly tackled Ben Davies.

Michel Vorm was called into yet another save when Demba Ba thought he scored with a fierce strike.

Another chance when Mata’s angled shot across goal was missed by the rushing Ba who had the chance to seal the victory.

Frank Lampard should have equalled Bobby Tambling’s record on the 80th minute. He was played in by Mata unfortunately his heavy touch denied him the chance to score.

I’m sure Rafa and all of you out there will be happy with this victory which potentially could put us in third place. Let me know what you think. KTBFFH!

i think David luiz is rushing in on players too much and then one pass from the opponents and hes caught out of position. he needs a lot more understanding in that position.
